The Health Sciences Library has many resources to help answer your health-related questions, including books, videos, fact sheets, and access to health-related websites. The sites listed below are considered quality sources of online health information. Most are ranked as Top Ten medical websites by the Consumer and Patient Health Information Section (CAPHIS) of the Medical Library Association. Web sites are evaluated by CAPHIS using the following criteria: credibility, sponsorship/authorship, content, audience, currency, disclosure, purpose, links, design, interactivity, and disclaimers.
MedlinePlus contains a gold mine of health information from the world's largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine. Health professionals and consumers alike can depend on it for information that is authoritative and up to date. MedlinePlus has extensive information from the National Institutes of Health and other trusted sources on over 650 diseases and conditions. There are also lists of hospitals and physicians, a medical encyclopedia and a medical dictionary, health information in Spanish, extensive information on prescription and nonprescription drugs, health information from the media, and links to thousands of clinical trials. MedlinePlus Espanol is the Spanish-language version of MedlinePlus.
NOAH is the website for New York Online Access to Health. Quality consumer health information, presented in English and Spanish. Organized by categories, indexed alphabetically, and searchable. Rated a Top Ten Most Useful Website by the Medical Library Association.

healthfinder.gov is an award-winning Federal Web site for consumers, developed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services together with other Federal agencies. A key resource for finding the best government and nonprofit health and human services information on the Internet. Healthfinder links to carefully selected information and websites from over 1,500 health-related organizations. Rated a Top Ten Most Useful Website by the Medical Library Association.
Healthy Lancaster County. The Health Information Access Project is a Public Library initiative in partnership with Lancaster County Hospitals/Health Care Providers and United Way of Lancaster County that’s designed to provide reliable health information to Lancaster County residents.
