Prevention of Pressure Ulcers: It Takes a Team
The pressure is on to avoid pressure ulcer development in the acute care setting. Not only does it have negative effects on the patient, but also has financial implications for the hospital. CMS is holding hospitals accountable for pressure ulcer development by not reimbursing for care and services. With the hospital population being sicker and less ambulatory, virtually every patient is at risk for pressure ulcer development. It takes effort and diligence from everyone to prevent the occurrence of pressure ulcers. Come and learn what you can do to help make a difference. Speakers to include wound, ostomy and continence nurse specialist, seating specialist and nutritionist.
