  • What is Insulin Resistance and the Metabolic Syndrome? 
    47,000 million Americans have a cluster of simultaneously occurring conditions that predispose one to cardiovascular disease and Type 2 Diabetes, known as, the Metabolic Syndrome or Syndrome X. Many experts believe insulin resistance is the foundation of this reversible killer disease.
  • Dyslipidemia, Hypertension, Atherosclerosis and the Metabolic Syndrome
    Metabolic syndrome amplifies and accelerates atherosclerosis and its associated effects on morbidity & mortality.  The relationship among myocellular metabolism , atherogenic dyslipidemia and the pro inflammatory states will be explored in its relation to metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes.
  • Innovations in Pharmacological Intervention for Diabetes
    Explore the latest in diabetic pharmaceutical interventions.  Correlate the actions and nursing considerations of diabetic medication.
  • Obesity and Lifestyle Choices Contributions to Metabolic Syndrome
    Obesity is rampant in the Unites States and the main contributor of cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes. We will examine the relationship of obesity with insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease and type 2 Diabetes.  We will explore ways to establish interventions that can potential stop the progression of the disease.
