The College's Academic Research and Scholarship Committee promotes educational and practical faculty research that results in the advancement of educational or practical techniques. The committee provides a framework that supports the review and approval process for college academic research proposals and supports the development of faculty scholarly activities. The committee also supports the dissemination of research findings to fellow faculty.
In order to conduct your research at the Lancaster General College of Nursing
& Health Sciences, you will be required to present the study protocol, application, consent form, and any instruments that will be used for collection of data to the Academic Research and Scholarship Committee for review and approval. This should be submitted electronically to:

consent templates are those that are also used for clinical research. If your project does not involve clinical research the consent should be modified accordingly.
If your project involves Human Participants your project will also require review and approval from the Institutional Review Board of Lancaster General Hospital. Once approved by the College Academic Research and Scholarship Committee, the project application should be submitted online to the IRB Coordinator, Toni Phelan, CIP. During the duration of your project, you must submit a written
report on your progress to the Research Committee Chairperson every three
months and every time you need to alter your research methodology or there are
adverse events involving subjects. Once completed, a summary of your findings
must be submitted to the Academic Research and Scholarship Committee. Throughout your project, you and your co-investigators will maintain the privacy, confidentiality, and security of faculty, students, staff, patients and organizational data.
