Please read this page in its entirety as it outlines all Neonatal Resuscitation Provider pre-class requirements. There is required work to complete prior to arrival.
The provider course is designed for health care providers who wish to certify as an NRP provider every 2 years.
NRP Pre-course Work:
-
You will need to obtain and study the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 6th Edition.
-
You will need an access key to complete the online NRP program. Please send an email to
IPDrequests@lancastergeneralcollege.edu (this link requires Microsoft Outlook to run. If unable to use this link, please access your Lancaster General work email and send an email to Caroline Althouse) with the subject "NRP Key Request" and the DATE you are enrolled in class for your key. Keys are distributed Monday through Friday from 7:00am until 3:00pm, and only within 60 days of the class date provided. This is not an automated system, so please allow 24 hours for a response.
After two attempts to pass the online module, you will need to purchase a new key through the American Academy of Pediatrics at their current charge.
-
Keys are valid for 60 days. Do not request a key more than 60 days prior to your scheduled class. The module takes approximately 90 minutes to complete.
-
Attend the skills demonstration and megacode class. Don't forget to bring your printed certificate! You will only be permitted to demonstrate skills if you bring your certificate of completion to class.
Required Text:
-
Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 6th Edition.
-
-
You may borrow a book from the WBH Educator's Office located in the Couplet Care Hallway. A $40 deposit check is required to borrow the text, and will be returned to you on the day that the book is returned.
