Please read this page in its entirety as it outlines all ACLS Initial Provider/CPR Renewal pre-class requirements. This class is 1.5 days, with class time on day one from 0800-1630 and day two from 0800-1200. There is required work to complete prior to arrival.
The course uses the 2005 Guidelines for Instruction. These guidelines offer a flexible, patient-focused approach to treating various cardiac arrhythmias. The ACLS Provider Course uses case-based teaching in which providers will learn to manage 10 core cases during small-group discussions and occasional large-group sessions. Participation is expected.

CPR Renewal is accomplished through a combination of an online learning module and in-class skills demonstration and evaluation. The online modules and exam must be completed before 0800 on your scheduled class day. You will only be admitted to ACLS Initial Provider/CPR Renewal class if you have completed the online CPR program and have the printed certificate.

You will need an access key to complete the online CPR program. Please send an email to
IPDrequests@lancastergeneralcollege.edu with the subject "CPR Key Request" and the DATE you are enrolled in class for your key. Keys are only distributed Monday through Friday from 7:00am until 3:00pm and will not be given out without a class date. This is not an automated system, so please allow 24 hours for a response. After two attempts to pass the online module, you will need to purchase a new key through the American Heart Association at their current charge.

Completion Cards:
- ACLS and CPR certification cards will be distributed to you at the end of the class after you have successfully completed the exam.
