Lancaster General College - ACLS/CPR Renewal

Please read this page in its entirety as it outlines all ACLS/CPR Renewal pre-class requirements. Classes scheduled for 2008 will begin at 0830; classes will begin at 0800 in 2009. There is required work to complete prior to arrival.

Prerequisites:

Current CPR Provider Card for non-LG employees.
Current ACLS Provider Card.
Basic Arrhythmia Class.
Online CPR Completion Certificate for all LG employees.

Required Text:

AHA's ACLS Provider Manual (2006).
Books may be purchased from http://www.mbsdirect.net/.
Books may also be borrowed from the Health Sciences Library (located in the James Street Lobby).

CPR Pre-work:

CPR Renewal is accomplished through a combination of an online learning module and in-class skills demonstration and evaluation. The online modules and exam must be completed before 0830 on your scheduled class day. You will only be admitted to ACLS/CPR Renewal if you have completed the online CPR program and have the printed certificate.
You may complete the CPR material and test at any time (up to 60 days prior to class) from any computer with Internet access. If you do not have Internet access, please contact Janet Voss (JMVoss@LancasterGeneralCollege.edu) or Rhoda Denlinger (RHDenlin@LancasterGeneralCollege.edu) for availability of computer classrooms.

You will need an access key to complete the online CPR program. Please send email to IPDrequests@lancastergeneralcollege.edu with subject "CPR Key Request" and the DATE you are enrolled in class for your key. Keys are only distributed Monday through Friday from 7:30am until 4:00pm and will not be given out without a class date. This is not an automated system, so please allow 24 hours for a response. After two attempts to pass the online module, you will need to purchase a new key through the American Heart Association at their current charge.

ACLS Pre-work:

Complete the Precourse Self-Assessment (PDF). The assessment begins on page 8.
Complete the ECG Practice Strips (PDF).
Print the ACLS Pharmacology Sheet (PDF).

Completion Cards:

ACLS and CPR certification cards will be distributed to you at the end of the class after you have successfully completed the exam.
