Our New Semester Checklist is designed to get all students...newly admitted students, returning students, clinical students, and non-clinical students...up and running with all the requirements that must be completed prior to the first class each semester.  In some cases, particularly with clinical students, you literally can NOT attend classes without having completed your requirements.

Use this Single Page Checklist to help you keep track of the items you've completed.  All instructions for completing each item are here, below, on this page.

ALL STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF STATUS
  1. Check Online Accounts.  Make sure you can login to Email, Sonis, and Blackboard.  These will require you to know your username (given to you by the Registrar at the time you registered for courses).  You may need these instructions for logging in the first time from home or for logging in the first time at the college.  If you do not know your username and/or password for email, call 717-544-5001, option 2.  Have your SSN ready to confirm your identity; they will call you back.  Once you are in email, Sonis and Blackboard are self-service.  (NOTE: assuming you know your username, returning students who are having difficulty logging in are almost positively simply using the wrong password.  For email and the network, call 717-544-5001, option 2; Sonis and Blackboard are self-service.)
  2. Confirm Your Schedule of Courses.  Once you have logged in to Sonis (see step 1 above), confirm that the schedule of classes is what you believe it should be.  You will need this to confirm the accuracy of your bill, and when ordering textbooks.  If the schedule is not what you believe it should be, contact the Registrar at 717-544-5373.
  3. Confirm Your Financial Aid.  IF you are applying for Financial Aid, you should be working closely with the Financial Aid Office.  If you have not received your Financial Aid Award Letter prior to classes, contact the Financial Aid Office immediately.
  4. Pay Bill.  Pay your bill or arrange a payment plan.  Bills are located online in Sonis (see step 1 above).  It's a good idea to confirm that the schedule of courses as seen in Sonis is correct before you send in your bill. See Billing for details.
  5. Order Textbooks.  Order your textbooks from the College Bookstore at MBS Direct.  This will require you to know what courses you are registered for.  Textbooks are available 3-4 weeks prior to the first class of the semester.

  3. ID Badge and Parking Permit.  Instructions for receiving the ID Badge, including dates, will have been given to you by the Registrar at the time you registered for classes.  ID Badges are managed by the Employee Service Center at Lancaster General Hospital.  Pick up your Parking Permit for the Burle Lot when you get your ID Badge.  PLEASE visit the Employee Service Center ONLY during the specified dates and times you received from the Registrar.  Please call the Employee Service Center (717-544-4421) only as a last resort if you absolutely can not make the specified dates and times.
