Lancaster General College of Nursing and Health Sciences is offering a 5 week Mammography course beginning in April, 2010. The course, which will also award 3 college credits, is offered in an accelerated format (requiring both in class and on line coursework) on Thursday evenings from 5 to 9 pm beginning on April 15, 2010 and lasting until May 13, 2010. In-class meetings will be held at the College, located at 410 North Lime Street in Lancaster.

This course is designed to provide ARRT certified radiologic technologists with the knowledge required for advance certification in mammography. The course explores breast anatomy and physiology, fundamental mammography positioning, breast pathology and treatment, and interventional procedures. Additionally, the concepts of analog and digital mammographic equipment, quality assurance and quality control, and film critique will be discussed.
 
The course is limited to 20 students. The cost of the course will be $1080 (calculated at $360 per credit). Registration for this course will begin in January.  Prospective students must make an appointment with the Registrar's Office starting January 11th 2010.  You must complete the Open Studies Registration Form and return it to the College Office prior to your appointment.
