Offered by the Center for Leadership, Management, and Innovation, the Innovation curriculum examines creative problem-solving as a mindset as well as a set of principles, practices, tools and techniques.
The Innovation, Planning and Presenting Ideas course consists of nine sessions and provides individuals with the following foundational concepts:

Define “Innovating” as a bridge between creativity and analysis of needs and solutions.

Develop an implementation plan designed to bring creative ideas into action.

Communicate with the key decision maker(s) to secure the cooperation and buy-in needed to bring the idea to the marketplace.

Develop a general sense of what innovation is and its potential impact on the future of an organization.

Recognize the value of innovation and the vital role every individual can play in an innovative organization.

Define “Innovating” as a bridge between creativity and analysis of needs and solutions.

Identify and select LG process that could be improved using Innovation/Creative Problem Solving.

Define “Planning in Innovation”.

Develop an implementation plan designed to bring creative ideas into action.

Prepare an individual or a team to communicate effectively with the key decision maker(s) that secures the cooperation and buy-in needed to bring the idea to reality.

Present their Innovation Action Series Project to the Manager or Director of the unit, department or work group under which it falls.

To register for the Innovation, Planning, and Presenting Ideas course, login to Netlearning, choose "Enroll in Class", choose the curriculum topic "Innovation Curriculum", then choose "Enroll" next to the class you want to take. Attendance at all nine sessions is required for completion of the course.
