The Bachelor of Science of Healthcare Administration is a baccalaureate program that provides students with the knowledge and skills to lead within a healthcare system. The focus of the program is to offer students an opportunity to enhance knowledge of leadership, contemporary issues in healthcare and business management. A baccalaureate in healthcare administration prepares the student to assume leadership positions in hospital, ambulatory, long term care and community health.
Key features of the program include:
• dedicated full time faculty and support staff on campus;
• emphasis on an integrated health system perspective;
• individualized academic advising;
• over 360 hours of internship and job shadowing experience;
• most courses are available in both a traditional or an accelerated format.
A total of 120 semester hours (credits) – which includes the completion of 60 credits in the Healthcare Administration curriculum and a cumulative GPA of 2.0/4.0 are required for graduation. Students may complete general education requirements through transfer of credits or completion of credits at their own pace.
