OVERVIEW: The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences degree is intended for allied health clinicians that have an associates’ degree, certificate, registration, or license. It was established as a degree completion program and can be completed in approximately 2 years. The exact time required to graduate will depend upon the number of college credits previously taken and personal desire.
The program contains two tracks that can be taken: an Advanced Clinical Practice track or a Clinical Management track. The management track includes 15 credits in Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Healthcare Finance, and Quality Assessment. All of these management classes are also part of the BS in Healthcare Administration program. The Advanced Clinical Practice track includes additional science courses and courses in the student’s area of practice such as Radiology, Sonography, Respiratory Care, etc.
The program is designed to advance the learner’s critical thinking, communication skills, theoretical knowledge, and professional development. The BSHS program prepares the graduate for advanced clinical practice and /or leadership and management roles within the professional discipline.

Dual EnrollmentAssociate degree students of the Lancaster General College of Nursing & Health Sciences have dual enrollment into the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences for a period of one year after graduation. Students will be required to complete a
Letter of Intent prior to graduation indicating the desire to pursue a baccalaureate degree and must begin classes within one year of graduation. Students who elect to pursue baccalaureate education after this time must complete a baccalaureate application.
