Clinical Simulation Laboratory training sessions focus on learning how to use the patient simulators to achieve the desired educational outcome. Topics include simulator usage and guidelines, simulator features, scenario development, using the Instructor’s Remote Control laptop, Digital AV and Total Sim debriefing and assessment software.
SIM TRAINING
SIM training sessions are designed to give faculty and staff hands-on experience with the simulators and the software that controls them. It is important for the instructor to be confident and knowledgeable about the lab environment and the equipment that will enable clinical lab time to be spent using the simulators rather than learning how to use the simulators. To schedule a training session, contact Joe Corvino, jacorvin@lancastergeneralcollege.edu.
TRAIN THE TRAINER
Train the Trainer sessions will be held periodically throughout the year and are specifically designed to introduce the faculty to the Clinical Simulation Laboratory. The sessions will include a broad overview of simulation, hardware and software application within the CSL, and curricular adaptation.
MEET THE MANNEQUIN
Meet the Mannequin is a brief exercise designed to introduce the Human Patient Simulators to faculty and students and is essential to achieve a realistic Simulated Clinical Experience. Download Meet the Mannequin (PDF link on left side of this page) to complete the exercise.
