The Clinical Simulation Laboratory contains two large lab spaces, a state-of-the-art control room separated from the labs by one-way glass, and a large classroom that can accommodate 48 students which sits adjacent to the lab space. The classroom is also separated from the lab spaces by one-way glass for unobtrusive observation by classmates or instructors and is equipped with television monitors, projectors and head phones.

The lab spaces feature three simulated patients from Medical Education Technologies, Inc (METI): one adult Human Patient Simulator (HPS), one adult Emergency Care Simulator (ECS) and one BabySim. The computer model-driven mannequins blink, speak, breathe, have a heartbeat and pulse, and accurately mirror human responses to such procedures as CPR, intravenous medication, intubation, ventilation and catheterization. The ultra-sophisticated, versatile simulators are the heart of the simulated learning environment.

The lab spaces are equipped with microphones and digital video cameras that seamlessly capture the simulated learning sessions. The digital recording system and performance assessment software gives the students and faculty the ability to review, critique, evaluate, and report on their clinical skills ability. The cameras can be controlled by touch screen in the control room and can be preset to focus on specific student actions and responses such as teamwork and communication. The sessions are archived and can be viewed via the web. Education Management Solutions (EMS) installed the advanced audiovisual system and sophisticated software package that is used for clinical skills performance evaluation and training.
