– Associate Degree & Academic Certificate
Why choose our Cardiovascular Invasive Specialty program?
The heart is the hardest working muscle in the human body – so it only makes sense that a cardiovascular invasive specialist would play a very important role in the patient’s health because they perform the procedures that keep the heart pumping. These specialists, sometimes known as cath techs, work alongside of the cardiologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients. Some of the most common procedures include diagnostic catheterizations, interventions (such as stent placement) and temporary pacemakers. To put it simply, cardiovascular invasive specialists are the “plumbers” for the heart, making sure that all of the veins and arteries are open and capable of doing their job.
Will I be successful?
What will I learn?
This program offers a two-year associate degree in applied science, or a one-year academic certificate. Class sizes are limited to ensure that each student receives personal attention in the classroom and clinical site from our experienced faculty, some of which are alumni of Lancaster General College. Not only will you have the opportunity to learn in the classroom, but through hands-on, intensive clinical experiences, you will know exactly what to expect when you become an entry-level cardiovascular invasive specialist.
