The College has had strong support in the development of the Clinical Simulation Lab and intends to involve the community in the activities and experiences available at the Lab. Several different groups in addition to College programs are using the Lab, and more are planned for the future. Funding for the Lab came from many different sources, and we have received strong press coverage as a result of our state-of-the-art facilities.

Partners in the Development of the Lab's Hardware and Software
The lab would not exist without the extensive help of Medical Education Technologies, Inc. (METI) and Education Management Systems (EMS), whose respective products form the core of the Clinical Simulation Lab facilities.  Links to METI and EMS are on the left side of this page.

Partners in the Use of the Lab
In addition to various programs at the College, the Clinical Simulation Laboratory is currently being used by LCCTC (the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center) and LEMSA (Lancaster EMS). Planned future community partnerships include the Pennsylvania State Police, Lancaster City Fire & Police, and the LCPSTC (Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center). For more information about using the Lab, see our Scheduling page.

Funding for the Clinical Simulation Lab
The Clinical Simulation Lab exists thanks to the cooperation and collaboration between federal and state organizations, the business community, foundations and private individuals. Fundraising for the Clinical Simulation Laboratory will be ongoing so that Lancaster General College will have the means to:
  • Acquire a pediatric simulator that will provide real-life simulations in the specialty of pediatric care and education.
  • Invest in our faculty by providing specific training and education for healthcare faculty to make the most of the CSL.
  • Purchase curriculum program and resources for specific nursing and allied health programs so that our simulated program provides the highest level of education possible for Lancaster General College healthcare students.

For additional information on how you can support the CSL please contact our Development Office (see the Giving to LGC link on the left side of this page).
