Please read this page in its entirety as it outlines all pre-class requirements. This page contains information needed for the one-hour CPR renewal courses offered after July 1, 2008.
Beginning July 1, 2008 all CPR renewal courses will be administered through a combination of online learning and in-class skills demonstration. Participants who enroll in this class will complete the necessary learning online prior to the start of class. On the day of class, participants will demonstrate skills in a classroom setting with a certified CPR Instructor.
The CPR Renewal class utilizes the most current CPR guidelines for instruction. These guidelines incorporate a patient-focused approach to treating respiratory and cardiac arrest, as well as foreign body airway obstruction measures for infants, children and adults.
To Successfully Complete the Class:

Sign up for the "CPR Renewal (Skills Demonstration Only)" class in Netlearning.

Prepare for online learning by reviewing the textbook as you would for the traditional class.

You will need an access key to complete the online CPR program. Please send email to
IPDrequests@lancastergeneralcollege.edu with subject "CPR Key Request" and the DATE you are enrolled in class for your key. Keys are only distributed Monday through Friday from 7:00am until 3:00pm and will not be given out without a class date. This is not an automated system, so please allow 24 hours for a response.
After two attempts to pass the online module, you will need to purchase a new key through the American Heart Association at their current charge.

Following the
instructions (PDF), complete the online learning. You can complete the online module up to 60 days before the class. The module takes approximately 90 minutes to complete.

Attend the skills demonstration class. Don't forget to bring your printed certificate! You will only be permitted to demonstrate skills if you bring your certificate of completion to class.

- CPR certification cards will be distributed to you at the end of the class after you have successfully completed the exam.
